How Do I
Through the sacrament of Holy Baptism, we are incorporated into Christ’s body, the church in heaven and on earth, receive the promise of forgiveness and the hope of everlasting life. Baptisms are scheduled through the church office. Prior to a baptism, parents of children meet with the pastor either in the home or in the church for pre-baptismal conversation and instruction. In baptism, we become members of the church, regardless of age, and are welcomed into the congregation’s life. If you are interested in scheduling a Baptism, contact Pr. Matthew or the Church office.
The Service of Holy Communion is central to our worship. In Holy Communion we believe that the risen Christ is present with us in his true body and blood in, with and under the forms of bread and wine for the assurance of forgiveness and for the strengthening of faith. Christians sharing in this faith and desiring communion with the Lord and his church are invited to the Lord’s Table. Those who have questions about receiving are welcomed to speak with the pastor.
Confirmation is a three-year program for 7th, 8th and 9th grade students. The confirmation classes are held Wednesday after school. Please contact Pastor Eliza or the Church office for more details about our confirmation program.
Weddings are scheduled through the church office. Couples are encouraged to contact the office at least six months in advance of the proposed wedding date, when possible. Pre-Marital counseling is offered, and strongly encouraged.
Funerals are rites of the church. Services are held in funeral homes or in the sanctuary, and pastoral care and support are offered to the bereaved. The Funeral Home should take care of all arrangements for the facility, but you will need to meet with Pastor Eliza to arrange the service.
Individual Confession & Forgiveness:
A time for reflection and intentional conversation in search of healing and forgiveness is available with the pastor. Appointments can be made by contacting Pastor Eliza.
Pastoral care is offered by the pastor, and our prayer and healing ministries are offered to anyone in need. Pastoral visits are made regularly to those home bound or hospitalized. Please contact the church office of people in need of visitation.
If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact the church office at (320) 320-528-2536 or by e-mail at Office@PeaceBarrett.org
